Shark Fights has been rapidly signing up free agent talent, building the roster for its most prominent event to date. Shark Fights 13 is scheduled for Sept. 11 the Civic Center Coliseum in Amarillo, Texas.

The promotion on Monday announced that it has added controversial British banger Paul Daley to a one-fight deal for the card, although an opponent has yet to be determined.

“Words cannot express how elated we are that Paul Daley has agreed to fight for our organization. Daley is arguably one of the best 170-pound fighters in the world.” states Brent Medley, president of Shark Fight Promotions.

“We are currently in the process of choosing Daley’s opponent. Several marquee fighters are being considered and a decision will be made very soon.”

Daley (24-9-2) recently defeated Daniel Acacio at Impact FC 2 in Australia. The bout was his first since being exiled from the UFC for punching Josh Koscheck following their bout at UFC 113 in Montreal.

“I’m very excited to be fighting in the U.S. again. Despite my conduct during the Koscheck fight, which I agree is inexcusable; fans in the United States have been very supportive. For that I am very grateful,” Daley said in a statement released by Shark Fights.

“I can’t undo what has already been done, but I’m determined to prove to everyone that the fighter they saw at UFC 113 is not who I am. I am better than that and the fans deserve better than that. I plan to do whatever it takes to earn back their respect and the respect of everyone in the industry. I’m genuinely looking forward to fighting back in the U.S., on what I feel is one of the most impressive fight cards that has been pulled together in quite some time.”

A light heavyweight non-title fight between current Shark Fights champion Trevor Prangley and fellow UFC veteran Keith Jardine heads the Shark Fights 13 fight card. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Houston Alexander square off in the evening’s co-main event. There is also a middleweight feature bout between Joey Villasenor and Drew McFedries on the card as well.
